General Osteopathic Council
The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) is the governing body for practicing Osteopaths in the UK. Set up in 1992 to protect the professional title of ‘Osteopath’ it is our main regulator and holds the professional register of over 5000 Osteopaths. Annually Osteopaths have to comply with Standards of Practice, complete Continued Professional Development and hold suitable insurance in order to stay registered. The GOsC investigates internal & external complaints. It also regularly reviews the 8 Osteopathic training courses in the UK ensuring high standards.
